The client brief was to redevelop the 4,117m² centre to provide a future proof, modern, family friendly facility with health, fitness and leisure activities which would appeal to the local community. The project encompassed extensions to add 831m² at ground floor level. The scheme introduced a new 110-station state of the art fitness suite and a remodelled reception area, extensive pool refurbishment, new learner pool with moveable floor, a tired seating viewing gallery, new thermal suite with sauna, steam room, heat loungers, foot spa and relaxation zone. There are new village changing rooms with wet and dry facilities as well as dedicated group changing area for disabled users and their carers.
