Congleton Leisure Centre Steel Signing Marks Milestone Completion
Pulse Design & Build Executive Director, Matt Johnson, was delighted to welcome to our £10m new build Congleton Leisure Centre project, Cheshire East Council Councillor Mick Warren, together with eight sports loving children from Congleton Primary School: The Quinta Primary School and their PE Coordinator, Alison Cope to view progress on the scheme (from a safe distance) and help to mark completion of the main pool structural steel frame.
As local Congleton Sports Champions, The Quinta Primary School has a history of sporting success and the school was thrilled for their pupils to be asked to sign one of the last pieces of steel, using permanent markers, to mark the Council’s significant investment and to celebrate achievement of another milestone in the scheme’s progress. The signed steel will serve as a ‘time capsule’ of the centre’s construction.
The new 3300m2 facilities on Worrall Street, Congleton will feature two new swimming pools, a thermal suite, state of the art gym, café, and soft play area and is due for completion in late 2022.
Councillor Mick Warren, Cheshire East Council’s Chair of the Environment and Communities Committee said of the scheme: “The work on the leisure centre is progressing well and I am convinced leisure centre members, and the town, will be pleased with their new facility.”
“We are very confident that the new facilities will offer local people a superb, value for money, sport, fitness and leisure destination” said Matt Johnson and “as a local design and build contractor, we are equally thrilled to have the children visit the scheme to mark this further programme achievement.”
