After being awarded the tender to redesign and redevelop the 50-year-old Congleton Leisure Centre, the Pulse Design & Build Team had the task of modernising an outdated facility to create a bustling community hub.

Killamarsh Active
After signing a 20-year leisure contract with Northeast Derbyshire Council, the Pulse Design & Build Team was briefed on the complete redevelopment of the redundant Killamarsh Active Community Centre.
Waveney Valley Leisure Centre
The client brief was to redevelop the 4,117m2 centre to provide a future proof, modern, family friendly facility with health, fitness and leisure activities which would appeal to the local community.
Leiston Leisure Centre
A refurbishment and extension project to create new thermal suite facilities, new village wet and dry changing facilities, new entrance, lobby and reception, new café and catering kitchen, soft play area, refurbished sports hall floor as well as a new 80-station gym, spin studio and two dance studios.
Deben Leisure Centre
A refurbishment project comprising demolition works, pool structure retention and steel framed extensions to provide a refurbished swimming pool, office accommodation, 80-station gym, wet and dry changing spaces, spin studio, dance studio, full thermal suite, new reception area and public pool viewing, extensive mechanical and electrical works.
Eckington Swimming Pool
The project comprised a redesign and refurbishment of an existing swimming pool complex. The front-of-house reception was redesigned, the pool changing areas were refurbished and upgraded, new poolside viewing space was created, the gym was expanded through introduction of a mezzanine floor and the fitness suite was also upgraded. A new café area was created together with a new children’s soft play area.
Dronfield Sports Centre
The objective of the project was to enhance existing leisure facilities by installing a new mezzanine floor in the gym, increasing the size of the fitness suite from 58 to 75 stations, introducing a new studio space for health and fitness classes and undertaking a general refurbishment programme.
The Arc
Redevelopment of a 485m2 leisure facility to a multi-use leisure club of some 2341m2. The project comprised extensions to the rear of the existing building, completed whilst the original building remained operational.
Our Gym
A conversion of former commercial office space into a a gym and fitness suite comprising design and build of a new reception and entrance lobby, installation of changing areas, toilets, showers, two studios, and a fitness suite with a floor area of 1217m2.
Imperial College London
Design and build remodelling and refurbishment of a 1300ft2 building including structural works to internal floors and walls together with fit out works.
Phoenix Swimming Pool
An extension and refurbishment project of a 40-year-old swimming pool complex to increase space from 860 m2 to 1498m2 allowing for the introduction of a new state of the art fitness suite within a new mezzanine level and a remodelled reception area, pool refurbishment including depth increase, new thermal suite with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. New village changing rooms with wet and dry facilities as well as dedicated group changing area for school and family use were created
Jesmond Sports Centre
A redevelopment and refurbishment project of a 950 m2 building to create a new entrance, remodelled front elevation, relocated reception and foyer and a new welcoming seating area for visitors and members. The old multi-use hall was converted into a two storey 70 station gym and facilities comprising an immersive spin studio, an aerobics studio and new changing rooms were also created.
Carshalton College
Following demolition of an existing sports hall, Pulse designed, built and equipped an impressive new health, fitness, swimming and sports complex, completed in just 52 weeks
